Inspired by the seven sands of the UAE, Tod’s has launched an exclusive Middle East collection, just in time for the opening of its new boutique at The Dubai Mall. The collection includes styles for men and women as the iconic ‘Gommino’ loafer is reimagined for the Middle East with hues that match the sands of each Emirate. Ras Al Khaimah’s sand is white, Ajman’s is cream, Sharjah has a pale yellow shade, while Abu Dhabi’s is an ochre yellow, and Dubai is a rust red. Mariah Carey Speaks Out About Bipolar Diagnosis
Celebrities have done a lot to destigmatize mental illness by speaking openly and honestly about their struggles. The latest celebrity to join the cause is pop icon Mariah Carey, who revealed in an interview with People Magazine that she had been diagnosed with bipolar II disorder back in 2001. She lived in denial of the mental illness for a long time before realizing the toll it took on her health and family’s well-being. “I’m hopeful we can get to a place where the stigma is lifted from people going through anything alone. It can be incredibly isolating. It does not have to define you and I refuse to allow it to define me or control me,” Carey shared.
Kendall Jenner Debuts Pizza Boys Radio
For years, Kendall Jenner has teased a mystery project known as “Pizza Boys”, and finally, just in time for Coachella, the supermodel revealed just what it is. Pizza Boys is a new radio show on Apple Beats 1, formed by Jenner and DJ Daniel Chetrit, along with various members of the “Zaza Gang” which ostensibly includes family members like Kylie Jenner. The radio show launched on Friday with an inaugural episode that included music for Coachella-goers, and discussion of pizza (natch). You can find the first episode here.
Tryano Launches Women's Ready-to-Wear Department
Abu Dhabi’s only luxury concept retailer, Tryano, launched its new women’s ready-to-wear department in spectacular style. Tryano’s Spring/Summer 2018 collaboration with designer Manish Arora was showcased with a VIP fashion show after guests were treated to a hot air balloon ride across the desert. Arora commented “The Abu Dhabi women love fashion and they are particular about who and what to wear. They know their fashion designers and history very well. And I love that. It was a pleasure creating five kaftan styles inspired by the Emirati woman and exclusive for Tryano.”
