March 24th, 2018 will forever be remembered as an emotionally charged day – and for good reason.
It saw hundreds of thousands of people take to the streets of major American cities like Los Angeles, New York, Washington DC, Dallas, and Atlanta for the March for Our Lives demonstration. Spearheading this protest against gun violence were the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where a mass shooting last month claimed 17 lives – one of many such abysmal incidents in recent American history.
The teenagers were flanked by beloved models, comediennes, singers, actors, actresses, and TV hosts. But it wasn’t about them. It was about the urgency with which change is needed. And adding to this sense of urgency were the slogans – ranging from the tongue-in-cheek to the downright poignant – spotted. Here, we share the ones that caught our eye.
