The Kardashian-Wests Greet New Baby

Only five percent of women in the world suffer from pre-eclampsia during pregnancy, and Kim Kardashian-West came face to face with its horrors during her pregnancy with daughter North, making her second pregnancy with son Saint even more high-risk. However, after delivering both her children, Kardashian-West was still determined to have a third child.

After a failed medical procedure that was supposed to fix a dangerous hole in her uterus, the megastar decided to outsource her pregnancy, calling on a surrogate to carry her third child. The baby, named Chicago West, was born on Tuesday, January 15th and weighed a healthy 7lbs 6oz.

Alexander Wang Exits NYFW

Another one bites the dust.

New York Fashion Week is hemorrhaging talent as long-established brands have absconded from the schedule in favor of shows in other cities or private client showcases instead. Alexander Wang, one of the city’s most definitive talents, is the latest to join the roster of desingers leaving the event. Fall/Winter 2018 will be his last show in the Big Apple before switching to his own schedule of showing in June and December instead of the traditional February/September calendar.

Hedi Slimane Heads to Céline

Since Phoebe Philo announced her departure from Céline in March 2018, speculation has filled the fashion community over who would be replacing her. But when the news broke that it would be Hedi Slimane (the man responsible for Yves Saint Laurent’s financial success from 2012 2016), it came as a shock.

The designer will start his post as “Artistic, Creative, and Image Director” on February 1st, and expand the label’s offering into menswear, couture, and fragrance before debuting his first womenswear collection at Paris Fashion Week in September. Slimane is known to divide opinion with his directorship, so fashion fans wait with bated breath and sharp tongues, eager to see what he does for the beloved brand.
