Remember those months and months – and months – of complaining about not being able to do anything outdoors? Well, now’s the time to put your money where your mouth is. The weather has finally picked up, we have a few more public holidays on the horizon, and we’re only an hour away from a vast and gorgeous expanse of desert.
Not the hiking/camping/off-roading type? That’s where Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa steps in. Located in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, a 225 square kilometer area that has been designated to conserve the natural desert habitat, the postcard-perfect resort is Savoir Flair’s favorite place to take a time-out and reconnect with nature in style. The 42 suites on-site boast amenities ranging from private pools and dedicated staff to unexpected extras like binoculars and art materials. Unable to spend a night away from the city? The five day packages at Al Maha are just the ticket.

The 'Pool Package'
AED 550 per person
Few things in life feel as satisfying as a decadent lunch after a long and leisurely dip, so upgrade to the ‘Pool Package’ and enjoy full-day access to Al Maha’s main swimming pool and spa facilities – use of sauna, steam room, and Jacuzzi included – in addition to lunch at Al Diwaan. Also included in the cost of the package is entrance to Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve.
The 'Activities Package'
AED 950 per person
Guests at the resort – whether they’re staying overnight or just spending the day – are spoilt for choice when it comes to new things to try. Book in for the ‘Activities Package’, and you’ll be able to choose any two from the following: horse riding, a wildlife drive, a guided nature walk, camel trekking, a desert safari, and archery.
You’ll also get to visit the falconry mews as well as the majestic horses that reside at the on-site stables. Lunch at Al Diwaan is included, as is access to Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, the swimming pool, and spa facilities.
The 'Spa Indulgence Package'
AED 1,000 per person
There are decadent spa treatments – and then there are decadent spa treatments set against the tranquility of the desert, courtesy of Timeless Spa. The ‘Spa Indulgence Package’ at Al Maha features a blissful 60-minute treatment, valued at AED 450, of your choice.
You can pick from options such as the ‘Balinese Massage’, ‘Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi Massage’, ‘Babor Hydration Facial’ and ‘Sodashi Sensitive Skin Facial’. Also covered in the package is access to Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, the main pool, and all spa facilities as well as lunch at Al Diwaan.
The 'Equestrian Package'

Purebred Arabian horses are a source of endless fascination for equestrians, both amateur and seasoned, and it’s through the ‘Equestrian Package’ that you can actually ride one at the resort – twice in one day, in fact. You’ll enjoy an hour-long horse ride in the morning, and then another one during the late afternoon. Lunch at Al Diwaan as well as access to the pool, spa facilities, and Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve will keep you entertained between the two.
