If you went through yet another weekend without making a pit stop at La Mer, then drop all your upcoming Friday plans immediately – and head there instead. Two out of the three areas at this beautiful new beachfront destination in Jumeirah 1 – La Mer North and La Mer South – are now up and running.
Here, you can expect a whole slew of stores (think: LA-based label Trina Turk and homegrown boutique ShayMartian) alongside a plethora of cafés and restaurants. Amorino, Aprons & Hammers, Makan, Motomachi, and Treej Café are just some of the dining options to currently choose from. Licensed Indian restaurant Masti is set to open this December, followed by an outpost of Abu Dhabi-based sports bar Stars ‘N’ Bars.
Next on the agenda is the opening of Sea Spice beach club, complete with cabanas and daybeds, as well as a special air-filled trampoline concept all the way from Japan. Not a member of the “patience is a virtue” club? Already in place are bucket-drench showers and hammocks built into the sea, photos of which are sure to ‘flood’ your Instagram feed in no time.
Further down will see the opening of The Wharf at the start of 2018. This third district of La Mer will feature its own waterpark (including a first-of-its-kind surf park), a cinema, and even more shops and eateries. And all that aside, let’s face it: La Mer seems to be the most Instagrammable new spot in Dubai, as proven by Savoir Flair’s edit below.
