August 5 to 26: Return to Ripe Market
The city’s favorite market continues indoors for the rest of the scorching Dubai summer. Spend your time browsing interesting craft stalls and picking up fresh, organic, and locally sourced produce provided by passionate business owners. The summer edition of Ripe Market will run every Saturday at Times Square Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
August 5 to September 30: Celebrate the Written Word
Head to Alserkal Avenue for Literaturhaus at Nadi, a literary event that seeks to revive the 19th-century salon, during which contemporary questions were debated alongside artistic and cultural initiatives. August 6 to September 30: “Shellebrate” Seafood
The ‘Shellebration’ food festival at Pierchic is back – and better than ever. Thanks to an alternating menu of mouthwatering seafood dishes concocted by Chef Paolo Bellamio, diners will be taken on a culinary coastal tour around Europe. August 17: Support the Arts
Usher in Dubai’s first and only dedicated improv theater night at Rove Hotels across the city. Taking place on the third Thursday of each month, top improv actors from Courtyard Playhouse will put on two shows a night, and everything will be entirely unscripted and based on suggestions from the audience – and hilariously unpredictable as a result. Entitled La Perle, this collision of mesmerizing aquatics, aerial feats, state-of-the-art lighting, 65+ performers, and more has been inspired by Dubai’s culture and created by Franco Dragone of Le Rêve fame.
