Those of us who are lucky enough to call Dubai home are accustomed to the little (and big) luxuries of life – but when you receive a bouquet from Maison Des Fleurs, even the most jaded resident’s mouth is guaranteed to drop in awe. Why? Each bouquet is a veritable work of art, from the floral-design company’s signature ‘Flower Box’ concept to the latest acrylic-box presentation.
Maison Des Fleurs has long been a favorite at the Savoir Flair office; we’ve watched as the brand has expanded under the helm of founder Priya Jelly, most recently with the opening of her shop in the ever-evolving Dubai Design District. Here, we take you inside the lush outlet and chat with Jelly about how she manages to marry fashion, creativity, and botanicals, as well as what’s in store for the future of the brand.
What was the inspiration for Maison Des Fleurs’ latest space in Dubai Design District?
I have always been inspired by beauty in all its forms. After the success of our flagship store in Jumeirah and while deciding on our next location, I happened to visit d3. I was fascinated by the unique concept of the district and intrigued by what it has to offer. With the design scene slowly shifting to d3, it has also become home to key luxury fashion and beauty brands, as well as art galleries, so it felt natural for us to gravitate toward this location.
Flowers are like fashion; they have cycles of reinvention.
Keeping in line with the brand’s close connection with art and creativity, we wanted our next location to be in the center of the creative hub – and d3 is exactly that. One of the brand’s key pillars is to continue to inspire our customers through our unique floral arrangements. For the store at d3, the idea was to give and receive inspiration, and be in the middle of everything unique and creative. We place tremendous importance on the experience that we offer our clients, from the minute they walk into our boutique to the moment they leave.
What sets Maison Des Fleurs apart from other flower shops?
We house a wide and versatile selection of both fresh and luxurious, long-lasting silk flowers coming from all around the world. Maison Des Fleurs creates unique, modern, and elegant arrangements with a touch of whimsical romanticism and inspired by classic French design. Our creative approach is what sets us apart from other floral boutiques. We were the first to present the ‘Flower Box’ concept that is our signature, and we always push the boundaries in terms of floral arrangements and representation. We’ve also recently launched the acrylic boxes, which make for an amazing way to present flowers and preserve them in a modern, minimalistic way.
What’s in store for the brand in the future?
Flowers are like fashion; they have cycles of reinvention. My team and I are constantly integrating our ingenuity to ensure that Maison Des Fleurs is always a step ahead in the floral-aesthetics field… and the future only looks amazing! We’re opening new doors in the region and have plans to surprise the industry with some exciting and unprecedented collaborations, so stay tuned for some more floral art being announced soon.
