This coming weekend, Quintessentially Weddings will offer access to the finest global and regional bridal brands at its Atelier wedding show, which will be held from November 17th to 19th at The St. Regis Dubai. Prior to this highly anticipated show, Savoir Flair speaks to founder James Lord, who boasts over 20 years in the bridal and events industry. Read on to discover his picks for the hottest wedding trends of the moment.

1

Embroidery

“I would say the biggest bridal trend currently is embroidery, which we’ve seen in both the high-street and high-end collections. The ability to create sophisticated detailing on gowns allows embroidery to become a feature on the catwalk as well as accessible on the high street, without losing the elegant touch.”

2

Subtle Lace Embellishment

“Beautiful and classic, embellishment really never goes out of trend. Three-dimensional flowers and petals are particularly trendy right now, appearing across different designers’ collections in the recent months.”

3

Over-The-Top Floristry

“Flower walls and ceilings are the next big thing on the floristry front. We’ve watched these features continue to develop in size, stature, and intricacy, from tropical to greenhouse flowers, as well as vast displays of delicate single flowers that hang together to create a beautiful, eye-catching backdrop.”

4

Lavish Dance Floors

“These days, dance floors are becoming more multicolored and very sparkly as they need to be the star attraction in the reception area. This is where the bride and groom have their first dance, and all eyes need to be on that dance floor awaiting the magic to erupt, after all.”

5

Multicolored Bridesmaid Dresses

“For bridesmaid dresses, having them in different colors is now this season’s must. Gone are the days of
identical attire, and in are the alternative, one-of-a-kind dresses that are styled in different shapes, colors, and sizes to create a modern-day wedding. For grooms, the blue suit is now seen as ubiquitous and universal.”
