It’s never been safer to say that there’s so much more to Dubai than its sparkling skyscrapers and sandy beaches. During the last few years, we’ve seen a growing number of cultural hubs emerge around the city, all of which concentrate on fostering creative and intellectual communities.
Another such hub is Khazzan, an upcoming urban space in Downtown Dubai. Situated in Al Khazzan Park, this new cultural attraction will feature a canteen, concept shop, and gallery space with the aim of promoting entertainment and intellectual exploration. The park itself dates back to the 1980s and houses a traditional water tower, which sits as a tribute to the history of Dubai against the backdrop of its ever-evolving skyline.
Inside, visitors will be able to enjoy a rich library, which will contain thousands of books pertaining to the Middle East and North Africa and covering topics such as architecture, art, design, sociology, and literature. Also available will be a concept shop featuring artisanal crafts from around the world as well as ongoing exhibitions hosted by participating galleries from across the region.
As cooler temperatures approach, Khazzan’s outdoor courtyard will become a go-to spot whether you’re looking to work remotely or host a gathering, with a small canteen featuring a menu of health-conscious dishes alongside coffee, tea, and fresh juices to keep you fueled.
