In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, head to French restaurant La Cantine du Faubourg for the ‘Taste of Pink’ menu, which features dishes such as its signature ‘Eton Mess’ dessert served with pink, crispy-soft meringue and Chantilly whipped cream. All proceeds from these menu items will go towards the Breast Cancer Arabia foundation.

This month, The Scene Club will screen My Beautiful Country, a film that takes place during the civil war between the Serbians and Albanians in 1999. It follows the story of a young Serbian widow named Danica and her two sons who live in a small community divided by the war. Head to The Junction in Alserkal Avenue to see Shakespeare in the Sands. This series of 37 films, each only ten minutes in length, focuses on every one of William Shakespeare’s plays – all shot in the exact locations where he set his masterpieces.
October 20 to 23: Head to FFWD
The eighth season of Fashion Forward Dubai (FFWD) will see 31 designers debut their Spring/Summer 2017 collections at the Dubai Design District (d3). The showcase will feature both new (such as Mrs. Keepa and HZ by Hissa Zainal) and returning brands (including Amira Haroon, Hussein Bazaza, Madiyah Al Sharqi, and Michael Cinco). October 24 to 29: Visit Dubai Design Week
The largest design event in the Middle East, Dubai Design Week explores talent from the UAE and around. This year’s edition welcomes 143 designers from 12 countries in the region across a wide range of design disciplines from architecture to graphic, interior, and product design. October 25 to 28: Head to Downtown Design
Downtown Design returns this year as the commercial centerpiece of Dubai Design Week. The event will bring together over 100 leading, established, and emerging brands from 28 countries. These include Green Road and Pallavi Dean from the UAE and Samovar Carpets from Kuwait alongside international icons such as Sancal, Swarovski, Bernhardt, Moroso, Georg Jensen, Gaggenau, and more. Downtown Design is open to trade visitors and the general public, and entry is free for those who pre-register here.
October 26: Shop O’de Rose x Dubai Design Week 2016
“Arabesque Archi-Lab” will be the central theme at O’de Rose, the concept store for this year’s Dubai Design Week. It will showcase the visions of three regional artists – photographer Roger Moukarzel, jewelry designer Karma Salman, and product designer Richard Yasmine – from October 26th until the end of the year.
