The Kanye West-Taylor Swift Feud Goes Viral

Since 2009, Kanye West and Taylor Swift have had “bad blood”. The world cringed when the rapper jumped on stage during Swift’s MTV Music Awards acceptance speech for ‘Best Female Video’, claiming that Beyoncé was robbed of the win. From this point on, there have been friendship make-ups (see tweet below) and break-ups between the two, but it seemed – until this week at least – that the dust had finally settled. However, the release of West’s Life of Pablo album in February of this year, in which the rapper claims (using some very choice words) to be responsible for Swift’s fame, has reignited tensions.

According to the Kardashian-West camp, Swift was very much made aware of these lyrics and even gave her blessing to West prior to the song release. Meanwhile, Swift claims she was never explicitly made aware of lyric details. The result? Full-on social-media warfare. First up, Kim Kardashian deliberately leaked a recording of West and Swift discussing the song’s contents on Snapchat. This was quickly followed by Swift sharing an Instagram post that denied the fact that the recording proves she was aware of the specifics of the lyrics. From what we can tell, this appears to be just the beginning of the revival of a deep-rooted feud. For a complete timeline of the beef, click here.

Was Melania Trump’s Speech Plagiarized?

The world was in uproar this week over a passage of Melania Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention on July 18th that was strikingly similar (and by that we mean basically identical) to a speech delivered eight years ago by Michelle Obama. According to the Trump campaign, nobody will be fired over the incident, meaning only time will tell what really happened here.

Hmmmmmm. Thoughts? #speech #election #rnc2016 #copy

The Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister got engaged to financier James Mathews, kickstarting debates over how her nuptials will differ from those of her older sister. “Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr. James Matthews are delighted to announce that they became engaged on Sunday, July 17, and plan to marry next year,” the couple said in a joint statement.

Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger Called it Quits

Often the most charming couple on the red carpet, Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger were an unlikely pair from day one – he is a former child star and she is a beautiful European actress – but quickly became one of the world’s favorite duo to fawn over. We must admit we had a feeling something was up when Kruger uploaded the below Instagram post, but we hoped the signs of a break-up were a false alarm. According to their reps, Kruger and Jackson plan to “remain friends”.
