It’s been three long years since legendary pop artist and all-around dreamboat Justin Timberlake released his last album, The 20/20 Experience, featuring mega-hits like Mirrors and Suit & Tie. Fans have eagerly awaited his return, especially since he posted pictures of himself in the recording studio working on his fifth album with Timbaland, Pharrell Williams, and Little Big Town on social media. However, Timberlake has been understandably busy elsewhere, raising a new daughter, working on a documentary project with legendary filmmaker Jonathan Demme, and scoring films like the forthcoming The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.
Another project that has kept him busy has also been the catalyst for the much-anticipated release of new tunes. As the lead voice actor in DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming film Trolls (November 2016), Timberlake was given the opportunity to write original songs for the soundtrack, and he came through in a major way. Over the weekend, he debuted Can’t Stop the Feeling, an infectious earworm of a tune that is not only the ultimate summer dance anthem, but is also a high-energy addition to any workout mix. Not only did he drop this addictive new song to satisfy fans that have been waiting for new music for years, but he also timed the release as a cross-promotional effort with Trolls by unveiling a music video that featured the entire cast getting down to the new track. It takes approximately one solid listen to become thoroughly hooked on the feeling.
