When Ayman Fakoussa and Dipesh Depala, Co-Founders and Managing Partners of Dubai-based public relations and events agency The Qode, set out to design their new offices in the city’s up-and-coming Dubai Design District neighborhood, their focus was on seamlessly blending elements of luxury and comfort. “Our offices had to reflect the luxury environment that we work in, but we also didn’t want the space to exclude people,” explains Depala of the original design thesis for the space.
To achieve this delicate design synergy, Fakoussa and Depala worked with Beirut-based architect and interior designer Vick Vanlian to create a warm but industrial-inspired workspace, which plays out via exposed duct work in the ceilings, warm herringbone timber floors, and white-washed walls punctuated by a selection of colorful artworks. “We have concrete tones but also very earthy elements. There’s also a very homey element to the space thanks to the art and furniture,” Depala shares as he walks us through the offices, pointing to works from Dubai-based Cuadro Fine Art Gallery hanging on the walls and pieces by renowned Lebanese furniture designer Nada Debs that greet guests in the reception area.
