From March 2nd through March 19th, Al Maryah Island’s waterfront promenade in Abu Dhabi will be transformed into a lifestyle destination, thanks to the launch of The Galleria’s inaugural pop-up event, The Station.
The Station will showcase the finest homegrown and regional talent in the areas of fashion, art and design, culinary arts, and entertainment. Founded by Abu Dhabi-based fashion designer Searina Abdel Kader, The Station offers a unique fashion and lifestyle experience in the capital, and was created to bring a well-balanced mix of designers, brands, and engaging spaces to the public.
“My dream was to create an event that didn’t simply have commercial objectives in mind, but rather to support up-and-coming talent and give them a platform to sell and showcase their brands,” says Abdel Kader. “The name reflects the concept as the word ‘station’ refers to a place where a train would usually stop along a railway line. It reflects a temporary transition in one’s life or can be interpreted as the experiential end destination.”
Workshops and engaging talks will be held throughout the week, along with live entertainment on the weekends from star performers, actors, comedians, and singers. Key vendors include FMM by Fatma Al Mulla, known for creating pieces that aim to combine art and fashion, and Al Zamen Al Jameel, a specialist in home accessories and gifts.
