Over his three-decade career, Peruvian photographer Mario Testino has made a name for himself photographing everyone from the world’s most beloved models to capturing images from royal weddings.
On February 25th, Testino, in collaboration with UAE-based GINZA Fashion, will open his first exhibition in the Middle East: Heat. Named for both Dubai’s temperatures and the intensity of the work displayed, including a mix of Testino’s portraits of fashion and fine art, the pop-up exhibition — which will be located in Dubai Design District (d3) — will be curated by Simon and Michaela de Pury of de Pury de Pury, and will run through April 15th.
Commenting on the exhibition, Testino says, “I am so excited that my work will be exhibited in the Middle East, in Dubai, for the first time. My endless curiosity has contributed to the diversity of my work, and this curiosity extends to the different cultures, people, and places I have explored throughout my career. Looking at this exhibition, I feel you will see this, and Dubai is the perfect place to present it, with its constantly evolving creativity. I am eager to see and experience the impact that Dubai will make on my work.”
