If you’ve always wondered what Dubai looked like from above, all you need to do to find out is request an Uber. Following the success of its three-day F1 UberCHOPPER trial, the popular car-hailing company has announced that Dubai residents can now book a 20-minute helicopter ride around the city.
The new feature, Uber Tour, which will fly passengers from Dubai’s Atlantis The Palm over Old Dubai, Downtown Dubai, and the Marina, will set you back AED 630/SAR 643 per person. To order a ride, make a booking through the Uber app. The company will then send you a car to take you to the Atlantis helipad, where you will receive a safety briefing prior to your departure.
The announcement comes as Uber moves further into investing in the Middle East, following confirmation that the company has already spent over $250 million to grow operations in the MENA region. According to Bloomberg Business, Uber entered the region two years ago and operates in nine countries, including Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, Morocco, and the UAE.
Dubai is the first Middle Eastern city in which Uber is testing this relatively new tour service, which already exists in other cities around the world, such as New York and Cape Town.
