If you were to play a game by asking someone to name three things they would associate with the word “Cipriani”, chances are these would include: glamour and luxury – and truffles, of course. The Cipriani family founded the Hotel Cipriani in 1958, and since then has gone on to open a number of renowned establishments around the world, including Harry’s Bar in Venice and Cipriani Downtown in New York City. Bar a number of court cases and unfortunate incidents here and there, the life of a Cipriani is a pretty glamorous affair. So when I was invited to live like one for a weekend by Cipriani Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, I couldn’t refuse.
From private planes to sunset cruises to a million-dollar sports car – discover #MyCipriani weekend in this gallery.
It’s 9 a.m. on a Friday morning and I have no idea where I’m going this weekend. All I have is this super cool vintage-looking suitcase, a packing list, and an Uber code.
My driver takes me to Seawings at the Park Hyatt, where a delicious breakfast courtesy of Jones the Grocer and a cool pair of new sunglasses await me! After a quick meal and coffee, it’s time to take off.
The incredible view from the skies!
First stop in Abu Dhabi is the Yas Viceroy Hotel to drop our bags – and pick up our Lamborghinis.
My co-pilot on this trip is the ever-so-photogenic Mahmoud Sidani.
A super car, a custom-made playlist, and gorgeous weather – not a bad way to start the weekend…
Wearing House of Nomad Spring/Summer 2016 and test-driving this gorgeous Lamborghini ‘Huracan’. Oh, the life of a Cipriani…
Next stop on the agenda is the Yas Marina Circuit for a spot of lunch and a side of drag racing.
Back at the hotel, a surprise delivery awaits me, courtesy of Huda Beauty and Le Soie Cosmetics. This calls for a long bath and a new episode of Scandal before our sunset cruise.
Aboard the Azure to watch the sun set while enjoying some sundowners and one too many canapés before arriving at the Cipriani Yas Island restaurant.
How does a Cipriani dine? Dripping in diamonds, of course. With La Marquise’s gorgeous cuff on my wrist, I find myself planning a swift escape past security…
On my left, the beautiful Shereen Mitwalli looks like she’s probably thinking the same thing.
The next morning, I’m up bright and early to catch up on e-mails, and find it very hard to get out of the Viceroy’s amazing bed.
We’re back in the Lamborghinis and headed to Saadiyat for a day of poolside relaxation.
The beautiful Saadiyat Beach Club.
As the sun sets on Abu Dhabi, it’s time to bid farewell to the Cipriani lifestyle and head back to Dubai – in no less than a private, chauffeur-driven car.
