Tip 1: When choosing a menu for your guests, opt for a wide variety.
“Ideally, you should aim for a nice balance between seafood, chicken, red meat, vegetarian, and sweeter flavors. It’s also great to challenge your guests a bit with something interesting. For example, our seared wagyu is served very rare. It takes some convincing, but once guests try it they absolutely love it. We also recently catered a fabulous jungle event and served crocodile and chips – it was daring.”

Tip 2: Always aim for a ‘wow factor’.
“This can be achieved by adding visual elements to your food, such as fresh flowers, edible gold dust, custom tags, and specially designed trays. These details should be a talking point at your event. For example, our smoking roses canapé is a complete sensory experience – starting with the visual impact of hundreds of fresh roses, the scent of rose oil, and the cool smoke and finishing with homemade rose ice-cream with crunchy pistachio. It takes guests on a journey.”

Tip 3: Get a good bartender.
“Whether it’s cocktail or mocktails, invest in a good bartender with a fabulous drinks menu. Incorporate fresh ingredients and create a bar with high visual impact.”

Tip 4: Choose competent wait staff – it’s critical.
“Fresh, smart, confident, and smiling, all our staff members are hospitality trained and undergo Dish training. We pride ourselves on having staff with personality and that contribute to the event.”

Tip 5: Music is essential.
“Whether it’s a playlist, a live band, or a DJ, music is an absolute must.

Tip 6: Stick to the theme.
“If you want the best 70s party or Mexican Fiesta or Beachy Boho, you have to commit 100 percent. We recommend working with a stylist to achieve your vision. Dish will complement every aspect of the event with styled uniforms, food presentation, fabrics, installations, bar décor, and props.”
