She’s walked the runway for Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Chanel, and House of Holland, has modeled for Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Valentino, is an up-and-coming movie star, and has been chosen as the new face of Chloé fragrances. Dree Hemingway is undoubtedly in high demand. The ‘It’ girl took time out of her busy schedule to speak exclusively to Savoir Flair about her top perfume picks, how she likes to relax and unwind, and what beauty products she can’t live without.

How do you feel about being the new face of Chloé?
It’s a huge honor. I’ve always admired the women who have filled the role before me and hope I can inspire as they did.

What does Chloé represent for you?
Chloé represents a free spirit, natural beauty inside and out. The Chloé woman is understated, yet glamorous. She is Paris.

What do you like most about the Chloé Eau de Toilette?
It’s girly and fresh, like springtime in a bottle.

Do you have any memories related to fragrance? What’s the smell of your childhood?
Growing up in our house in California, there was night-blooming jasmine that perfumed the whole of our street. It felt like nature’s gift that we could wake up every morning and be gifted with such a scent.

Do you have a favorite scent? What are the scents you like the most?
I go in and out of liking bizarre masculine musks or florals. It depends on my mood and what message I’m trying to send.

What is your definition of beauty?
Beauty is about how you shine from the inside out.

What’s your beauty routine? Any beauty secrets you can share?
My weekly workout involves Ballet Beautiful sessions, vitamin C, and lots of water. I rarely wash my face with water; I normally use an astringent or witch hazel, because I travel so much that my face can’t handle the constant change of water. I only shampoo once a week and the rest of the time I just wash with conditioner. Smile and laugh everyday – life’s not worth a serious face!

What beauty product do you always carry in your bag?
I always have Weleda ‘Skin Food’; it’s great for anything dry – lips, hands, face, etc. Also a red lipstick, just in case!

Have you picked up any great tips from makeup artists?
Never put makeup on an unwashed, unmoisturized face, and mix moisturizer with foundation to help skin breathe.

How do you take care of your hair?
Coconut oil masks once a week, and I never use a blow-dryer. I like natural air-dried texture.

You used to practice classic dance and planned to become a ballerina, but you finally chose to become an actress and model. How did you come to this decision?
My career as a dancer had ended and it was time to do something new and venture into a new field. Dancing taught me a lot and I use that knowledge in my everyday life.

What’s currently playing on your iTunes?
Kate Bush and Tupac.

What are your favorite holiday destinations?
Mexico, Idaho, and Northern Ibiza.

What’s your favorite indulgence?
I love crème brûlée.

What’s your favorite food?
Guacamole.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
To be able to fly.

What do you do to relax?
I love baths.

What’s your favorite city?
Paris.

The new Chloé ‘Signature Eau de Toilette’ will be on counters from September 1st.
