Nail art is undoubtedly one of the biggest beauty trends of the year, and the Spring/Summer 2016 runways are no exception. When it comes to transforming nails, Sally Hansen’s Global Color Ambassador, Madeline Poole, is the industry’s go-to woman, having worked with some of the world’s biggest designers. Speaking exclusively to Savoir Flair, Poole shares her secrets on how to get the nail-art look she created for Prabal Gurung’s SS16 show. “For Prabal Gurung’s nails, we chose a pale yellow shade, ‘Mellow Yellow’, with an organic flow of white shapes in ‘White On’. The shapes are painterly brush-stroke curves and are inspired by his feminine silhouettes, while the color combination gives the look a sporty edge,” she explains.

“It’s not necessary to paint a white shape on every nail. Leave one or two nails plain yellow on each hand. The white should look like it’s flowing along the hand and should feel like a silhouette, curved, nothing too linear. As for placement: think random and unpredictable.”
