In our results-driven culture, it’s very difficult to rationalize long-term over short-term benefits. We want immediate results with minimal effort, but our haste is often our folly. What if there was a completely natural, anti-aging solution you could do everyday that would increase your skin’s overall appearance, elasticity and youthfulness, over time? This specially formulated style of yoga works to move the 57 muscles in your face according to a process that will assure increased blood flow to the skin tissue, strengthen facial muscles, and reduce sagging. Beauty benefits aside, facial yoga has also been used to treat the weakening of face muscles and aids with the release of toxins, stress, and tension.

As a start, we’re bringing you facial yoga, which we strongly believe is not only wonderful for aesthetic purposes, but also keeps the brain young by increasing memory and other functions. Our classes are designed to be fun, rejuvenating, and show immediate results on the face.”

We teamed up with The Fit Face and lawyer-slash-fashion-consultant Natalia Shustova to show our readers some of the basic moves of facial yoga to try at home.

The Fish Face


Pucker up and try to smile at the same time. The Fish Face will activate almost all the muscles on your face, especially in the cheek area. This is a great exercise to start with and will leave your skin flushed. It’s also one of the most effective moves and does wonders to wake you up in the morning thanks to increased circulation in the face.

The Forehead Lift


Gently press your fingers on each side of your forehead and lift the forehead muscles. The pressure of the fingers creates resistance while your forehead muscles strengthen and begin to erase fine lines and eventually wrinkles. This exercise is perfect for anyone with a tendency to raise their eyebrows too often.

The Bunny Face


Place your fingers on the area between your brows to make sure the muscles around that area are relaxed. Raise and release the muscles around the nose imitating a ‘bunny face’. This will lift the area around the nose, which tends to droop with age.

The Marilyn


Pout your lips slightly without puckering too much, kiss your hand, and hold for two seconds before releasing for plumper lips.

The Double-Chin Eraser


Look to the ceiling, making sure your neck is comfortable, then kiss the air by raising your jaw as high as you can. Repeat this move by slightly tilting your face to the right and then to the left. The Double-Chin Eraser tones your neck muscles and slims down the area under the chin.

The Joker


Smile from ear to ear and hold for ten seconds before releasing. This exercise is amazing for lifting the lip area and also sends happy signals to your brain.

The Eskimo


Stretch your eyes to pull the upper and bottom eyelids together without moving your eyebrows. Make sure your eyes remain slightly open, like an Eskimo in winter, and squint using just the bottom of your eyes. This exercise is great for toning your eyes.
