One glance at the ravishing, raven-haired Jessica Kahawaty – the Lebanese-Australian TV personality and runner-up of Miss World 2012 – and one would assume that she is a woman who was born glamorous. But she tells the story differently; “I was always this very nerdy girl at school and university. I wasn’t really into that stuff until I got into the industry. My mother has always been into maintaining herself, choosing natural products, and really maintaining her youth, so I guess I was bound to pick it up along the way.” Kahawaty more than picked it up though; she ran with it! In this exclusive feature, the international beauty icon shares every step of her daily beauty routine, along with the products she can’t live without.

“The last thing I do at night is take my makeup off. Some days, I’ll apply a face mask before going to sleep. The next morning, my skin looks really fresh and plump and fine lines appear reduced.”

“When I wake up, the first thing I do is wash my face with the La Mer cleanser before going through the brand’s series of oils, serums, and moisturizers. I do that every morning and night; I can’t live without these products. I’ve been using them for about a year, and I can really see a difference already.”
“I moisturize my skin every single day. Eucerin’s results are instantaneous, and I love Dove’s moisturizer, because it’s super hydrating and never sticky.”
“I discovered this perfume when I first moved to Dubai about a year and a half ago. It’s from Parfums de Marly, a French perfumer, and is based on scents from the 1800s. I love how rare it is and the fact that it works in winter and in summer.”
“I don’t use these products on a regular basis, but always have them on hand. The foam mask is incredible; you feel like your face has just been injected with oxygen.”
“A dermatologist actually prescribed this product for my under-eye area. It’s really brightening. It’s a quick fix, but it’s also very hydrating, reparative, and regenerative, with long-lasting benefits.”
“I don’t usually wear lipstick every day, but I’ll apply a nude lipliner or a balm to give my lips a bit of color.”

“The ‘Benebalm’ is really hydrating and gives your lips a healthy red tint. This Estée Lauder shade is one of my favorite lipsticks, because I love peach tones. It works both as a lipliner and a lipstick, so you only need to apply one product. It’s also very pigmented, so it lasts a long time. The MAC lipstick looks amazing when worn with a blush that is similar in color.”
“I can’t live without these ‘Diorshow’ products. The primer really elongates your lashes, while the mascara has a really nice, wide brush for flawless application. Dior’s ‘Glow Maximizer’ is great for going out at night. It leaves my skin looking really glowing, pearly, and dewy.”
“Chanel’s ‘Soleil Tan de Chanel’ is my absolute favorite bronzer. You can apply it with a brush or with your fingers, use it on your skin without foundation, and it blends really well to give you a sun-kissed look. The Benefit ‘Sunbeam’ is also really good for a quick injection of color.”
“This eyeshadow palette is actually made out of cocoa. It smells like chocolate. It’s got so many different shades, so it makes getting ready at night really easy. I don’t personally like using dark, dark shadows on the eyes, and prefer shades of brown. I also like peachy eyeshadows. I always prime my lids before applying shadow using Too Faced’s ‘Shadow Insurance’. It has a beautiful pearly finish, so you can even wear it on it’s own.”
“A useful tip I picked up from working with makeup artists over the years is using your pink eyeshadow or blush as a lip color that you apply under any lipstick. It really sets the color and makes it last for a long time. Just use your finger to pick up some blush and apply it on your lips before adding your lipstick. It really creates a strong base.”

“Because of my work, I get my hair blowdried very regularly, which can really dry it out. This Argan oil mix is my go-to product when I feel like my hair needs a boost. I heat it up first, apply it from the middle to the ends of my hair, and leave it in for a couple of hours.”
“I don’t wear red lipstick very often, but when I do it’s a bold red. I also feel like a shiny color suits me far more than a matte one. Every woman should opt for the shade and texture that suits her.”
“I’ve been using Pawpaw ointment for so many years. It hydrates your lips, but I also use it on the other parts of my face. I even apply it on top of my eyes some nights. It’s really the one product I can’t leave home without.”
“I’ve just started testing these products. They were prescribed by a dermatologist. I think that’s so important, because, while the commercial products may be great, at the end of the day you need an expert to look at your skin and tell you what it needs in order to heal, regenerate, and produce collagen.”
“Living in Dubai, your skin is constantly in the sun and subjected to so many external factors. Even if I’m spending the day indoors, I always apply sunscreen as part of my daily routine. The sun and light are so harsh on your skin and can really age you. I use Invisible Zinc’s face and body sunscreen with SPF 30.”

“I don’t use this Dermablend product very often – about once or twice a year. It will cover literally anything you need to conceal, like a scar, a pimple, a blemish, a mole, etc.”
“Colorful pencils are my new favorite product! If I’m not in the mood for eyeshadow and full makeup, I just add a green or blue line behind my lashes with a bit of mascara and lipgloss and I’m good to go. It gives my eyes a pop of color with minimal effort.”
“I’ve had short nails since I was young, because I used to play the piano. Rejuvacote is great for keeping your nails healthy and helping them grow by hardening them. My mum actually gave it to me; she always finds the best beauty products.”
