“I try really as much as possible not to wear makeup when I’m not working. People are actually surprised when they see me without it, because I look like such a different person,” young Lebanese actress Razane Jammal reveals to Savoir Flair during her shoot. But, looking at the fresh-faced beauty, that’s very hard to believe. Her natural good looks and acting talent have landed her challenging roles in Kanye West’s debut film Cruel Summer (2009), Carlos (2010), Djinn (2013), hit Arab TV series Saraya Abedeen, and A Walk Among the Tombstones, which she starred in opposite Liam Neeson.
Although she wears little makeup when she’s off duty, Jammal sticks to a beauty routine that keeps her looks fresh and feminine. “What’s important to me is that my skin gets some rest, so I’ll just wear a bit of concealer and some mascara,” she shares. When she’s attending events or meetings, however, Jammal calls on her trusted arsenal, including a covetable amount of Chanel products, to achieve the desired effect.

“The first thing I do when I wake up is drink hot water and lemon. I then wash my face with ‘Exfoliac’ before applying rose water on my skin to calm and hydrate it.”
“I keep my skincare very basic, and try to get professional facials when I can as opposed of doing it myself. I try to listen to my skin’s needs and give it just that.”
“I love ‘Le Lift’ from Chanel. I’m so tired whenever I travel, so if I have a shoot the next morning I just put it on and it brightens up and wakes up my whole face.”
“One the best tips I picked up from the experts is to apply aspirin on a zit. The salicylic acid really gets rid of it.”
“My hair care has become a lot simpler now that I cut my hair. I just use these sulphate-free products. I stopped using oils, because I discovered that my hair works better with cream-based, leave-in conditioners.”
“I’ve always been conscious of my beauty needs; I started moisturizing my knees and elbows from a very young age, then wherever I would go I would absorb beauty tips from experts and, little by little, I created my own routine.”
“I travel with my own nail kit everywhere I go. I had a pretty bad experience at a salon a while ago, so I ask them to use my own products and tools now.”
“I always wear either nude or red polish. Right now, I’m wearing ‘Le Vernis de Chanel in Flamboyant’, which is number 38.”
“This product is my secret to de-stressing; it calms me down. When you’re always working and always on the go, it can get pretty stressful. I like to think it actually works, but maybe it’s just in my mind!”
“I use pure vitamin C to help refresh tired skin and delay the appearance of wrinkles. I apply it every night.”
“I wear so much makeup when I’m working, so I’ve really started looking after my skin more. I’m trying to move towards more natural products.”
“I can’t live without this ‘Rose Salve’ lip balm. It’s so amazing that my best friend stole it from me once and I had to steal it back, only to find out she had taken it again! It’s great for moisturizing your lips, your knees, your cuticles, your under-eye area – anything basically.”
“I always use Chanel’s liquid eyeliner. It’s easy to apply very thinly in between your eyelashes, so it looks like you don’t have anything on. You can also use it to create a dramatic look; you can really play around with it.”
