In the never-ending quest for perfect, luminous skin, many of us are willing to go to great lengths to find that perfect product that will not only cover flaws but also make skin look healthy and silky. If you struggle with liquid- and cream-base foundations, Chanel’s new offering might just change your makeup routine for good. For the first time ever, the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio has developed a skin-perfecting loose-powder foundation that comes with a mini Kabuki brush for easy application.
Though some might find powder makeup tricky to use, the kabuki brush that comes in the set picks up the perfect amount of powder, allowing it to settle down into the bristles, which means you don’t have to keep picking up more product. The suggested technique is also quite simple. Starting at the center of your face, buff the powder into the skin in circular motions moving outwards. A little powder goes a long way.
The great thing about this foundation is that the level of coverage is completely customizable. Applying less product will give you light to medium coverage, whereas building on more layers will eventually give you a full-coverage base.
The formula itself combines two different powders, the shapes of which allow them to adhere easily to the surface of the skin. It’s also enriched with a softening Canola oil derivative, which means that, even though it’s a powder, the foundation doesn’t dry the skin at all. In fact, I found that it became more dewy and natural looking as the day wore on.
If you prefer a glowing, satin finish to your complexion, apply a light layer of the new Le Blanc de Chanel Multi-Use Illuminating Base. The loose powder foundation blends into the base beautifully, giving a silky, natural finish. I found that it brightened my skin immediately and would be sufficient on a “makeup-free” day.
Whether you’re a foundation connoisseur or a face-base novice, this innovative powder is definitely worth a try.
Chanel Vitalumière Loose Powder Foundation with Mini Kabuki Brush will be available from August 15 onwards across the Middle East.
