Shiseido ‘Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate’

You may not be able to see pollution particles, but that doesn’t mean they’re not causing serious damage to your skin. Yes, indoors too. Screens – we’re looking at you. But don’t panic, because this number one best-selling protector from Shiseido negates the harmful effects of pollution thanks to a potent blend of powerhouse J-beauty ingredients – Reishi mushroom, iris root, and ginkgo biloba leaf included. Pat McGrath Labs 'Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Concealer'

Haleh Nia – Founding Publisher & Editor-in-Chief

True story: Back when traveling was a thing, the legendary Pat McGrath and I would frequently stay at the same Paris hotel. One of my fondest memories of Fashion Week was running into her every morning in the elevator. Since this was before she launched her eponymous makeup line, I would routinely ask her, “Pat, when is the makeup line coming out?” She’d laugh my question off, we’d wish each other a lovely day, and make our way to the shows. I’d often think how much in need of a great concealer I was during those long and tiring days. Little did I know Pat herself would launch the very concealer to become my holy grail. I’ve never experienced anything like this product. It’s like a magic stick that hides any and all signs of fatigue under my eyes, especially when used with its corresponding blurring powder. I could literally sleep for three hours and get compliments on how “fresh” I look.

Charlotte Tilbury ‘Magic Serum Crystal Elixir’

Grace Gordon – Fashion & Beauty Director

When a product is super hyped – the way the Charlotte Tilbury ‘Magic Serum Crystal Elixir’ was – the only way to see if it lives up to the praise is to try it yourself. I have about 64 different serums, but there isn’t a single one that does everything I need it to do (calm redness, moisturize, and solve for my oily skin), so I often combine them. When ‘Magic Serum Crystal Elixir’ came along this year, I was skeptical, but the formula proved to be both intensely hydrating and mattifying – a combination that’s very rare to find. Niacinamide makes that possible. This soothing ingredient truly improved my skin texture and balanced oil overproduction, which meant my face stayed flawless even during the hell-summer of Dubai. It’s the best serum I’ve ever used, both by itself and under makeup. The only problem is, I have no idea what to do with all of the serums that it replaced.

Slip ‘Silk Pillowcase’

Frankie Rozwadowska – Beauty Editor-at-Large

Gisele won’t board a plane without hers, Victoria Beckham uses one every night, and the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kim Kardashian swear by theirs for smoother, healthier hair and younger-looking skin. No, it’s not some new miracle cure or overpriced beauty cream – it’s a silk pillowcase. And now I’m just as obsessed. Let’s be honest, working from home really means working from bed (or at least the sofa), which – while being insanely comfy – is a disaster when it comes to bedhead. And I’m not talking the cool, Kate Moss look, I’m talking full-on bird’s nest that no amount of brushing or leave-in conditioner can detangle. So, I took a leaf out of every celebrity’s beauty book and switched to silk. Not only does it feel wonderfully cool against your face, but it reduces friction, absorbs less product, and helps hair and skin retain their natural moisture. If you’re going to make one beauty resolution for 2021, make it “switch to silk”. I await your thank-you cards.
