Another day, another celebrity beauty launch. But this one has got us seriously excited. No, it’s not another matte lipstick or set of falsies (yawn) – it’s a clean cosmetics brand created by leading synthetic biotechnology company Amyris and supermodel and beauty expert Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Enter: Clean Beauty Collaborative.
Although the details are few and far between, what we do know is that it’s set to launch in the summer of 2021 and will see Amyris develop a new line of cosmetics using Huntington-Whiteley’s brand Rose Inc. It will also build on the Rose Inc. content platform and will see the supermodel take on the role of Chief Creative Officer.
To say Amyris is a clean beauty trailblazer would be an understatement. The company behind celebrity-favorite clean and sustainable skincare brand Biossance and non-toxic baby care brand Pipette (both of which you’ll likely to have spotted on Huntington-Whiteley’s feed), it finds sustainable alternatives to chemical nasties and animal byproducts and is single-handedly revolutionizing the world of clean ingredients as we know it. In the last year alone, it launched a shark-friendly alternative to squalane and a plant-derived version of silica.
Add to the mix a supermodel whose on-point beauty routine and aesthetic is the epitome of #goals, and you have a beauty match made in heaven.
“I am passionate about responsible beauty products that are healthy for people and the planet”, Huntington-Whiteley commented. “Working with Pipette this past year, I have been thoroughly impressed with Amyris’ technology and its leadership in creating sustainable, non-toxic, and trustworthy products.” If Rosie’s impressed, we have no doubt we will be.
