Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer diagnosed in women and the second most common cancer overall. According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer impacts 2.1 million women every year. Early detection of cancer is critical as it increases the chances of successful treatment. In an attempt to highlight the facts around early screening and treatment of breast cancer, the American Cancer Society along with Imperial Chemical Industries launched the month-long Breast Cancer Awareness campaign and its emblem, the pink ribbon, in 1985. Breast Cancer Awareness Month has grown to be an international health campaign that runs every October to educate people on the subject, raise funds for research, and to help find a cure.

Every year fashion and beauty brands, hair salons, restaurants, and organizations launch special products or services to support charities that encourage and fund breast cancer screenings, treatment, and research. As an issue very close to our hearts, Savoir Flair has rounded-up beauty products and services that have pledged to donate sales proceeds to breast cancer charities.

Estée Lauder

Founded in 1992 by the late Evelyn Lauder, the Estée Lauder Companies Inc. Breast Cancer Campaign is committed to creating a breast cancer-free world. The beauty giant’s breast cancer campaign has raised more than 89 million dollars so far to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation by donating a part of the proceeds from the sale of limited-edition pink ribbon products across Estée Lauder brands. The pink ribbon products include the Estée Lauder ‘Advanced Night Repair Cream’, La Mer ‘Crème de la Mer,’ Origins ‘Original Skin’, and Bobbi Brown ‘Powerful Pinks’ lip color duo among others. 


Ralph Lauren Fragrances

To celebrate 20 years of the Pink Pony initiative – a global philanthropic program dedicated to cancer care – Ralph Lauren has launched a special ‘Romance Pink Pony’ limited-edition fragrance. All profits from the sales of the limited-edition fragrance in October will be donated to The Pink Pony Fund of The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation.

Additionally proceeds from the sale of the 2020 Pink Pony apparel collection will also be donated towards the brand’s fund or to an international network of cancer charities. 100 percent of the purchase price of each light pink ‘Live Love’ graphic tee and 25 percent of the purchase price of all other items in the Pink Pony Collection will be donated.



Dabur Amla x Tips and Toes

Due for a salon visit? Why not make your next hair makeover count? To support #Pinktober, Dabur Amla and Tips and Toes salon have partnered with the Friends of Cancer Patients by participating in their #LocksofHope hair donation drive. The campaign aims to educate people on the challenges faced by cancer patients, including the loss of hair.

 “As a woman, losing hair is a painful experience at any stage of life. Through our ‘Strong Hair, Stronger You’ initiative, we aim to encourage people to donate their hair at regular intervals to make a difference, however small it be, to the life of cancer patients,” said Rohit Jaiswal, COO, Dabur Amla.

The campaign – which will run till December 15 – allows donors to donate hair at 23 participating Tips and Toes branches across the UAE. Donated hair will be used to produce high-quality hair prosthetics to be distributed to cancer patients free of charge.

Founded using the principles of color therapy – the mood-enhancing properties of colors – Kuwaiti beauty brand, Prismologie has pledged to donate 1 GBP (5 AED) for every full-size ‘Rose Quartz & Rose’ Hand & Cuticle Cream sold to support the Breast Cancer Now foundation.


That Hair Tho

A free blow-dry is up for grabs with the purchase of any service at That Hair Tho salon. All you need to do is wear pink to the salon to show your support to #Pinktober. 25 percent of your bill amount will be donated to the Al Jalila Foundation. Additionally, 50 percent of proceeds from the sale of the pink scrunchie – both in-salon and online – will go towards the foundation.


MZN Bodycare

Saudi-based vegan skincare brand, MZN Bodycare, is offering a 50 percent discount on orders in exchange for a donation receipt to Zahra Breast Cancer Association. In an attempt to spread awareness about breast cancer, the brand is also offering a 20 percent discount on all of its pink products.


Revitalash Cosmetics

Established in 2006, Revitalash Cosmetics was the result of Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff‘s efforts to make his wife Gayle feel beautiful during her courageous fight against breast cancer. Breast cancer awareness, research, and education, motivated by the desire to eradicate women’s cancers are naturally, are at the heart of the brand.

To support #Pinktober, for every purchase of ‘RevitaLash Advanced and ‘RevitaBrow Advanced’, the brand will donate two USD up to 120,000 USD to cancer charities around the world.
