We’ve been following style icons, “It” girls, and fashion darlings Simi and Haze Khadra (aka SimiHaze) for so long that we have no trouble telling these twins apart anymore. It helps that they have very different hairstyles, with Haze sporting a chic bob, and Simi allowing her locks and bangs to grow long.
Despite the small differences, there is one thing that remains true of the Khadra sisters: they’re not shy about their beauty preferences. There’s no middle ground. They’re either bare-faced and dewy or rocking seriously stunning neon eyeshadow, graphic eyeliner, color-blocked nails, and other bold beauty choices.
With experimental makeup rising in popularity, thanks in part to the wild success of HBO’s Euphoria and its psychedelic beauty looks, and to all of the downtime provided by a pandemic, there’s no time like the present to shake up your beauty routine. With Simi and Haze Khadra as your bold beauty guides, you’re sure to find an edgy new look to share on the ‘gram.
This look is deceptively simple, but packs a major punch. Pink eyeshadow, megawatt mascara, subtle blush, and glossy lips are enhanced by shimmer tears reminiscent of Zendaya’s iconic glitter tears in the season finale of Euphoria. To achieve this look, take an opalescent liquid shimmer shadow and drag it from your lower lash line to two centimeters below.
Colorblocked Eyeliner and Nails
SimiHaze are big fans of matching their makeup looks to their nails. This one takes a bit more expertise to achieve. Two hues of neon liquid eyeliner are applied in equal sections on the top lid. For the nails, you can take this photo to your favorite nail salon and have them recreate it, or try it at home with the help of a cool nail marker and draw simple strips of color along the outside and middle of your nails.
If you want to draw attention to your eyes in a simple but effective way like Haze, all you need is a great liquid eyeliner. The real trick is in connecting an exaggerated wing to your middle crease in order to create a more graphic look.
Matching Graphic Nails and Eyes
Here is another cool matching eye-and-nail look, courtesy of Haze. Liquid eyeliner in the crease mirrors a winged line along the top lash line, but doesn’t connect to it. Fill in the lid with a bold neon hue, and draw artful graphics on your nails in matching colors with a nail gel pen.
In order to achieve this dreamy look, you’ll need a map to guide your way. Draw the winged shape on first with a liquid eyeliner or a eyeliner pencil, and top with a shadow so that the sequins have something to grip. Next, using eyelash glue, use small tweezers to carefully apply crystal sequins along the winged lines you created. Finish with a high-shine highlighter and lip gloss.
