Both Henry Cavill (Superman) and Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane) lent their enigmatic eyes to the silver screen for their portrayal of the famous comic book characters. Heterochromia iridium is a genetic – and sometimes acquired – condition in which a person has different-colored eyes. This exotic and
beautiful characteristic is extremely uncommon, with less than one percent of the world’s population affected. It can manifest in a number of ways: complete heterochromia – both irises are a completely different color, partial heterochromia – an iris has a segment that is a different color, and central heterochromia – the inner ring differs in color from the outer ring.
Eyes have the power to captivate, mesmerize, and are often seen as a window to the soul, and in this kind of stain-glass window, a person could get lost staring into those mismatched eyes. To celebrate this rare and alluring attribute, Savoir Flair sought out celebrities you may or may not have known were hypnotizing you with the colors of their eyes.
Kate Bosworth
Perhaps the most famous celebrity with heterochromia, actress Kate Bosworth, has one blue eye, and one eye that is partially hazel. Unfortunately, many directors and casting agents have made her wear colored lenses while filming. However, the Lois Lane figurines had two different color eyes after Bosworth portrayed the comic book character in Superman Returns.
Mila Kunis
With her sultry gaze, you may not have noticed that Mila Kunis‘ left eye is green and her right eye is brown. She acquired heterochromia after suffering from an eye injury that left her blind in one eye as a young child.
