What do Superman and Lois Lane have in common? Heterochromia.
Both Henry Cavill (Superman) and Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane) lent their enigmatic eyes to the silver screen for their portrayal of the famous comic book characters. Heterochromia iridium is a genetic – and sometimes acquired – condition in which a person has different-colored eyes. This exotic and
beautiful characteristic is extremely uncommon, with less than one percent of the world’s population affected. It can manifest in a number of ways: complete heterochromia – both irises are a completely different color, partial heterochromia – an iris has a segment that is a different color, and central heterochromia – the inner ring differs in color from the outer ring.
Eyes have the power to captivate, mesmerize, and are often seen as a window to the soul, and in this kind of stain-glass window, a person could get lost staring into those mismatched eyes.
