Day 1. I’m growing a beard until we all go back to work. I’ll post reg pics so you can marvel at the miracle of my meaningless transformation. Normally, I try to stay on the cutting edge of entertainment. Now I shall conquer the uncutting edge. Please join me. #letsgrowtogether pic.twitter.com/UaLQjwlGfh

Step aside, break-up hair. It’s all about quarantine hair circa now. In fact, there are currently 18,692 #quarantinehair posts on Instagram as people worldwide deal with everything from boredom and vanity to repressed emotions and pent-up energy by chopping, bleaching, braiding, dyeing, trimming, shaving, or highlighting their own hair – because no rules apply.
It’s safe to say that no one will see the results for the foreseeable future, so who cares if it all goes awry? On the other end of the spectrum are those letting nature take its course, allowing the grays to come in and the curls to run wild. In today’s edition of Best Beauty Looks, we’re bypassing our usual poll to simply celebrate the celebrities who are taking to Instagram to flaunt their au naturel state – or “meaningless transformation” as Jim Carrey so aptly put it.
Tracee Ellis Ross
Leave it to Tracee Ellis Ross to school us on what a productive day in quarantine looks like – by showing some love to her locks, of course. The actress revealed that oiling her scalp, deep-conditioning her hair, and putting on an orange lip left her “feelin’ kinda cute”.
We’re used to seeing Nicole Kidman with poker-straight hair on the red carpet, but the photos that she’s posting while self-isolating has us wishing for gorgeous curls like hers.
Gabrielle Union-Wade showed off her natural hair after taking out her braids amidst the lockdown, thereby making an adorable statement to her daughter Kaavia: “Mama’s got hair like yours!!” She posted a series of photos of them playing together with the hashtag #QuarantineNaturalHairChronicles.
A super high and impossibly sleek ponytail is almost synonymous with Ariana Grande, but if you’ve ever wondered what the singer’s natural (read: curly) hair looks like, you can get a glimpse of it in the recently posted video, below.

Leave it to Jessie J to inspire us to embrace natural beauty, even if that means being at peace with “messy” hair. In a recent video that she posted on her Instagram account, the singer vowed to sport her natural texture more often and even asked her followers for recommendations on vegan and cruelty-free hair products to help tame her hair.
