Another day, another celebrity perfume launch – but this one? We’re actually excited about. For starters, there’s not a reality TV star in sight. We also find it refreshing that the woman in question actually knows a thing or two about fragrance.
She has been the face of Michael Kors, Jason Wu, and Carolina Herrera perfumes, she regularly travels the world discovering new scents and smells, and she’s got some pretty epic connections when it comes to all things beauty. Yes, we’re talking about Victoria’s Secret Angel and supermodel Lily Aldridge, who took to Instagram this week to post her first official teaser for her new brand, Lily Aldridge Parfums.
Although Aldridge still keeping most of it a secret, what we do know is that she is launching the line as part of a new partnership with IMG Models and Inter Parfums Inc., and it will be sold exclusively online via an e-commerce site directly connected to her social media channels.
“I had spoken with IMG for years about branching into the beauty world because it’s something that is so much a part of my lifestyle,” revealed Aldridge revealed in an interview to WWD last year. “Fragrance felt like a perfect introduction to the beauty world…I remember the fragrance I first used when I was in high school, the fragrance I wore on my wedding day, the fragrance I wore walking down a catwalk. They evoke sense memories and that’s why I love fragrance so much.”
As for the scents themselves? We’re predicting lots of florals (her favorite) and fragrances inspired by her globetrotting and memories. Rumor has it they’re hitting shelves (or should we say screens?) this September – watch this space.
