Just when you thought Kylie Jenner was taking time out to focus on motherhood, she comes out with a full-blown skincare line that already has the beauty world buzzing. The reality-star-turned-makeup-mogul took to Instagram on May 10 to announce the latest addition to her beauty empire: Kylie Skin.
The eponymous skincare line, which dropped yesterday, consists of six products including a vitamin C serum, a vanilla milk toner, and a very controversial walnut face scrub. The range is cruelty-free, gluten-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, vegan, and dermatologically tested – according to the brand’s Instagram account, at least.
The self-made billionaire celebrated the launch of her new line on Tuesday night in true Kardashian-Jenner fashion: with an OTT all-pink party complete with pink flowers, pink beverages, pink balloons, a strictly pink dress code, pink sushi, and even a pink roller-skating rink. Earlier this week, a bare-faced Jenner posted six promo videos on her YouTube channel to individually introduce each of the six products – one of which seems to be garnering a lot more attention than others.
Beauty experts have taken to social media to condemn the walnut face scrub, dubbing it both harsh and harmful for the skin. Regardless of the backlash, it’s safe to say that almost anything Kylie Jenner does is bound to sell out in a matter of seconds. And as she basks in that glory, countless Twitter users are candidly voicing their opinion, as evidenced by the handful of hilarious tweets below.
