While there’s no denying that the Met Gala gave us more #beautyinspo than we knew what to do with, there was even more happening in the world of celebrity hair and makeup away from the Big Apple. We’re talking splashes of purple, lashings of liner, and even some abstract embellishments. Don’t believe us? Have a little scroll and see for yourself – and while you’re at it, vote for your favorite look in the poll, below.
Not only were we obsessed with Lily Collins’ sequined Saint Laurent dress (hello, giant bow), but we also totally crushed over her beauty look at the premiere of Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Rocking both a statement red lip and a heavily lined cat-eye flick, she turned up the wow factor with a sleek, shiny updo.
Over at the Billboard Music Awards, Taylor Swift looked lovely in lilac. Her makeup was matched to her pastel-purple RaisaVanessa dress, her eyes taking center stage with a soft-lilac eyeshadow accented with a brighter purple hue. Oh so romantic, oh so fabulous.
Golden girl Olivia Wilde ensured all eyes were on her piercing peepers with this beautiful bronzed look. Makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis used a blend of shimmery gold and bronze shadows to create a soft smoky eye, and just a dusting of bronzer to warm her skin. Wilde’s lips were left bare and locks naturally tousled to ensure that her stare was the star of the show.
We saw a whole host of breathtaking beauty looks at the Met Gala afterparty, and Maya Henry’s was no exception. Hung Vanngo worked his makeup magic and created a Cleopatra-esque liner look with a slick of silvery-lilac shadow, while Danielle Priano created a mermaid mane of dreams.
But when it comes to the most creative look of the week, the award has to go to Lucy Boynton. Not only did she rock wet-look locks, glossy lips, and spidery lashes, but she also braved a flip-reversed flick in gold foil. If you needed an excuse to dig out those arts and crafts kits, this is it.
