Forget the new “It” bag or shoes du jour because, according to the Paris Fashion Week runways, the only accessory you need to invest in next season is a set of flash lashes. We saw lashes in all sorts of shapes and sizes adorn the faces of models in the City of Lights – there were subtle fluttery falsies at Beautiful People, full-on silver spidery tendrils at Vivienne Westwood, and everything in between.

At Dior, Peter Philips was inspired by the Teddy Girls of the 1960s, using black liquid liner to draw on thick, lower lashes for a cool retro feel. It was all about color at Manish Arora, where Kabuki and his team painstakingly painted bright pigments onto lashes before setting them with MAC’s ‘Prep + Prime Fix+’ spray.
Val Garland created a stunning “chrome art” lash for Giambattista Valli, which saw sets of custom lashes covered in MAC’s ‘Platinum Pigment’ and silver glitter applied beneath the eyes, framed by a slick of metallic foil. It’s safe to say that a slick of black mascara no longer cuts it. But if all this sounds a bit much, look to Each x Other for inspiration, where clumpy lashes and smudged mascara reigned supreme for a lived-in look that even the heaviest of hands can pull off.
Whatever lash look you decide to brave, there’s only one rule to remember: the bigger, the better. Get inspired to experiment with your pair by browsing through the best lash looks at Paris Fashion Week, below.
