Just when we thought 2019’s award season beauty looks couldn’t possibly get any better, the Oscars happened. Last night stars took to the red carpet at the 91st Academy Awards ceremony in LA, rocking everything from pink eye makeup and silver liner to new short hairdos and some of the most elaborate braids we’ve ever seen.
In honor of the beauty looks that deserved an award of their own, we’re rolling out the red carpet and celebrating them all, right here.
Charlize Theron
We’re lusting after Charlize Theron’s new dark locks, which hairstylist Adir Abergel dyed and chopped even shorter just hours before she took to the red carpet. And that hot tomato red lip? Perfection.
Lucy Boynton
Never one to shy away from a bold beauty look, Lucy Boynton didn’t disappoint with her pink and orange washed eyes, long dramatic lashes, and vintage inspired waves.
Jennifer Lopez
JLo did what she does best – glowing, bronzed skin, golden smoky eyes, and a nude glossy lip. We’re also loving this softly waved hair on her, too – which softened up her dramatic Tom Ford ensemble.
Ashley Graham
Flaunting her curves in a black figure-hugging gown, Ashley Graham oozed glamour. This was especially thanks to her slicked-back updo adorned with tiny black bows, courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Justine Marjan, and smoky cat-eye makeup.
Emilia Clarke
Emilia Clarke was the epitome of “English rose” beauty thanks to makeup artist Jillian Dempsey, who focused on a youthful flush of blush and perfectly pink lips.
Laura Harrier
Matching her makeup to her sky-blue, embellished Louis Vuitton gown, Laura Harrier stunned with a pastel blue eye and fresh, glowing skin courtesy of Hung Vanngo. An effortless updo by Jennifer Yepez was the perfect cherry on top.
Constance Wu
Constance Wu paired her sunshine yellow Versace dress with a rich, red lip to bring a splash of color to the red carpet. And if you’re after that exact rouge hue, it’s Pat McGrath’s ‘Vendetta’ lipstick. You’re welcome.
Emma Stone
Matching her eyeshadow to her hair and her dress, Emma Stone looked stunning as ever with just a touch of copper to make her green peepers pop. She definitely deserves the title of The Favourite in our eyes.
Gemma Chan
In the words of makeup artist Monika Blunder, it was “an emerald green liner and jewels kind of day” for Gemma Chan, and we couldn’t have said it any better ourselves. What better way to compliment a fuchsia pink Valentino gown than with a deep green cat-eye flick and beautiful Bulgari jewels?
Jennifer Hudson
Statement dropdown diamond earrings need to be on full, dazzling display – so it’s little surprise that Jennifer Hudson wore a low, twisted chignon. She kept her makeup understated, with a creamy complexion, subtly defined eyes, and some natural looking falsies.
Irina Shayk
Two words? Sleek bob. If Irina Shayk didn’t inspire you to go for the chop and load up on glossing spray, we don’t know what will. Her sharp ‘do was all thanks to hairstylist Harry Josh and a whole host of Aveda styling products.
Lady Gaga
We’re gaga for Gaga, who oozed old-school Hollywood glamour with her elegant white blonde updo and jaw-dropping 128-karat yellow Tiffany diamond. The star has made no secret of her love for silver makeup recently, so we weren’t surprised to see her sport a slick of silver liner.
Tessa Thompson
Tessa Thompson got us humming Sam Sparro with her Black and Gold look – which saw her rock both a black-and-gold gown and a golden smoky eye. Love.
