Hung Vanngo

Hung Vanngo once revealed to us, “I actually used to be a hairdresser. We had a makeup station at my salon, and I started playing with makeup there. I loved it so much and decided that’s what I really wanted to do!” And boy, are we glad he did. The go-to guy for the likes of Selena Gomez and Kate Bosworth, Vanngo is a brand ambassador for Marc Jacobs Beauty and an Instagram sensation – we’re constantly wowed by the bright hues and bold shapes featured in his breathtaking looks. It’s little surprise he has a whopping 1.2 million followers.

Violette

Ever since we laid eyes on Violette’s seriously cool and effortlessly chic feed, we’ve been obsessed. The French makeup artist and Global Beauty Director for Estée Lauder is never one to shy away from cool colors, unusual textures, liquid metallics, and even an embellishment or two – thus inspiring us to break the beauty rules with just a scroll. We also love her “color mood” posts, which have featured everything from bright-orange petals to midnight-blue butterfly wings and pastel-pink mushrooms that inspire her creations.

According to his Instagram profile, Vincent Oquendo is a “professional illusionist”, and you’ll know why after you see his celebrity transformations. He has worked his makeup magic on just about everyone, including Sara Sampaio, Hailey Beiber, Elsa Hosk, and Izabel Goulart. Naturally, he can do it all – whether it’s creating a classic cat-eye flick or edgy pink eyes.

Katie Jane Hughes

Although she’s the regular makeup artist of top supermodels such as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Ashley Graham, it’s the looks that Katie Jane Hughes creates on herself that we just can’t get enough of. The British beauty buff started out as a backstage manicurist before entering the realm of makeup, taking to Instagram to showcase her stunning looks that are worthy of a magazine cover. Now, she works with major brands and celebs, and is one of our favorite follows. Just look at that dewy glow.

When it comes to a makeup artist with a love of highlighter, no one comes close to Nikki Wolff. She’ll have you reaching for your liquid illuminator faster than you can say “shine on”. She’s also a big fan of full, bushy brows (which she likes to brush up) and luminous, glowing skin that doesn’t look like its caked with product. Her detailed close-up shots are seriously impressive.

Mary Phillips

What do Kendall Jenner and Chrissy Teigen have in common? Mary Phillips. Terry Barber

Blush reminiscent of the pulp of a raspberry, colors taken from retro 70s wallpaper, and orange eyes inspired by baked beans with the caption, “Statements like this often involve references to exotic cocktails and tropical sunsets. I prefer my inspirations a little closer to home. Call me basic.” This is just a taste of what you can expect from MAC Director of Artistry Terry Barber’s far-from-typical account. Creating obscure looks both on and off the runway, he juxtaposes images of his quirky looks alongside everyday objects such as ketchup, cups of tea, and dirty trainers. A lime-green eye inspired by a can of soda– why not?
