Fall is underway, winter is just around the corner, and many women the world over are changing their hair for more somber hues as the weather turns darker. It just so happens that Beyoncé is also one of those women who is partaking in this seasonal transition — but on her own terms. While in India, the singer took to Instagram to show off this new shade and give us some serious fashion inspiration. In town to perform at a private wedding, Queen B also tailored her costumes to fit in more with the traditional Indian attire, something she’s oft one to do. Keeping her signature long locks, the change was just dramatic enough to give her a refreshed look in her ever-changing hair evolution.

At the beginning of November, the singer was still sporting a lighter tone — though now that the holiday season is upon us, she’s gone to the dark side and we’re getting serious Destiny’s Child vibes. Playing around with tones and textures for her concerts, Beyoncé tends to revert to her favorite honey blond blowout, but after her recent performance at the Nelson Mandela tribute concert in South Africa — where she sported a more natural texture in a chocolate tone — it seems like this color is going to be around for a while. As she gifts us a new look, could this mean new music… or is it just wishful thinking?
