Debunk the biggest skincare myth you’ve heard.
Oh wow, that’s hard. I’ve heard a lot of them! There are so many myths that are just so outrageous. One that I believe to be a myth is that you shouldn’t use moisturizer on your skin because your skin gets used to it, so it stops producing its own sebum. That’s not a solution!
If you don’t drink enough water, your body will retain more, so you have to drink more to prevent that – it makes everything work better. It’s the same with your skin – don’t starve it! Of course, don’t over-moisturize, but it’s far too extreme to say don’t use moisturizer. If you’re really worried, just use a lighter cream.
Is what you eat important for skin?
When you ingest food, it goes through lots of processes in the body before it gets to your skin, so I personally believe that topical ingredients are much more beneficial as you’re literally feeding them directly into it. Of course, eating lots of fruits and vegetables makes for a healthier body and allows you to eliminate toxins better, so that’s good for your entire body – not just your skin.
Tell us about the new mask and why it’s so amazing for anti-aging.
The mask creates a protective and nourishing environment for the stem-cell fibroblasts, so they can function at their best. This mask is so unique because it has three different actions – it restores, replenishes, and restructures – so you’ll see skin that is visibly plumper and firmer from the inside.
We stimulate with retinol, vitamin C, antioxidants, and vitamin A, then protect with vitamin B3 and vitamin E and antioxidants, and nourish with Omega-9 and hyaluronic acid. So you really create an environment in which your cells can work their best! Leave it on for 20 minutes, and you’ll see a huge visible difference.
What mistakes do people make when it comes to anti-aging products?
People always forget about their hands and décolleté, and those areas show signs of aging so much faster! We always focus on the face, even with SPF – especially now that it’s in makeup – but you don’t ever put it on your neck or hands. And they’re the most fragile areas. You have to remember to protect and nourish them! That’s why we’ve formulated all our products to use not only on the face, but also these areas.
What do you think is the top cause of skin aging?
I’d say there are three: genetics, UV rays, and smoking. We know that UV rays – both UVAs and UVBs – are terrible for skin, so when it comes to SPF, you need to make sure it protects from both. UVA is the one that goes deeper into the skin and causes damage – think of it as UV-A-for-Aging! Of course, it’s also down to a good skincare regimen. What I like about our products is that they’re preventative and protective. As I said, it’s like going to the gym; if you go regularly, you’re going to keep your body healthy for longer and it will show.
When you’re 40 years old, you’ll look and feel better than someone who has never worked out at all. And if you’re someone who starts going to the gym later, it will take a lot more effort and time to catch up. Stem cells are the same; if you keep your stem cells healthy and active, you’ll reap the benefits longer. If you start too late, you can still see a difference, but you’ll have missed out on that big boost.

At what age should we start using anti-aging products?

It’s also worth noting that over 50 percent of irreparable damage caused by UV rays has already been done when you’re around 20, so we’re all starting with a base that is not as healthy as we’d like! It’s better to be preventative as early as possible.
What product should we start with?
If I could pick one hero product, it would be serum – one pumpful is enough for the whole face and neck. Use that at least once a day for three to four months. It costs less than a coffee a day! We actually worked that out, so make that your key investment.
You can then use a lighter cream, whatever BB cream you want, and have fun. Have a key investment, and think about where you’re putting your money – make sure it’s where it’s worth it. Buy that one product early enough then, as you get older, you can add more to the solid base you’ve already created by using it.
Apart from ingredients that work on stem cells, what others should we be using?
Our patented formula goes beyond just stem-cell stimulation, as we use retinol, vitamin C, and peptides – all of which are excellent ingredients for stimulating younger fibroblasts rather than just trying to patch up older ones. Hyaluronic acid and omegas are amazing as you need to nourish the skin, and they keep it healthy whilst plumping from the inside. Antioxidants also are super important, and – of course – sunblock!
The best stem-cell regeneration is done every day. It’s like going to the gym – a little bit each day is better than none! Even if you just use the serum daily, and not the cream, that’s much better than using both products once every few days.
