When it comes to a lady with a serious passion for perfume, Mona Kattan tops the list. A self-confessed fragrance fanatic, she boasts a collection of bottles to rival your local department store and is “obsessed” with all things olfactory. So who better to reveal the top perfume picks for spring?
“In general, I wear similar fragrances all year round. I’m really comfortable with the scents that I love, so I don’t change them too much, but that being said – I do think going floral for spring and summer is always a good option!” Kattan explains. “For this time of year, I think it’s nice to go for lighter options and not wear scents that are too heavy, especially in the day.”
On that note – no pun intended – here are Kattan’s top three springtime scents.
Gucci 'Bloom'
“I love this fragrance. I loved it last year when it came out, and I still love it now! It’s amazing as it’s very sensual, so you can wear it to the beach or when you’re going out.”
Key notes: Tuberose, jasmine, Rangoon creeper
Bottega Veneta 'Parco Palladiano VI'
“I love the entire ‘Parco Palladiano’ collection from Bottega Veneta, but the ‘VI’ one in particular is so great for this season. It’s delicate and beautiful, and it’s full of one of my favorite notes: rose!”
Key notes: Rose, woods, peony, sandalwood
Miu Miu 'Eau de Parfum'
“This is a really fun and fresh fragrance, and it’s beautiful for spring and summer because it’s so light, which makes it perfect for the daytime. You can always then layer it up for the evening!”
Key notes: Lily of the valley, jasmine, rose, pepper
Mona’s Top Perfume Tip:
“I always layer my perfumes, so I’d wear these spring scents alone in the day and then add deeper fragrances in the evening for a more nighttime feel. I think specific notes go really well together, like rose, vanilla, musk, jasmine, and patchouli. My advice is don’t be afraid. Know the notes you love and stick to them.”
