Between space-age vibes and mind-blowing hairdos, the FW18 Milan Fashion Week runways brought with them beauty looks that were bold and brave – and downright OTT on occasion. Read on to discover the nine that got us like woah!
Lucio Vanotti
Bold brows are here to stay, but it wasn’t about being big and bushy at Lucio Vanotti – it was about bleach. And lots of it. Brows were beautifully blurred out, drawing attention to spiky spider lashes that stood out against naked skin.
Prada
Prada + Pat McGrath = a makeup match made in heaven. Drawing inspiration from the bright bursts of color and appliqué details of the Fall/Winter collection, McGrath used eye-popping pigments from her upcoming ‘Mothership Eye Palettes’ to create a supercharged cat-eye studded with Swarovski crystals.
Emporio Armani
It was all about eyes at Emporio Armani, where metallic shades of gorgeous greens, grays, and silvers were painted onto lids and along lashlines in an abstract and fragmented way.
Moschino
The Moschino dolls were back again, this time rocking Jackie-O-meets-Martian vibes. Models were either made up with a classic beauty look and big bouffant ‘do, or covered head to toe in blue and green paint as if they’d just touched down from outer space.
Genny
It was glitter galore at Genny, where peepers were brought to life with shimmery flecks of silver sparkles for a magical multidimensional feel.
Annakiki
Makeup was matched to the colorful clothing at Annakiki, where everything from blues and reds and even whites were coated on lips for a daring but simple beauty look.
Antonio Marras
The makeup matching trend was also seen at Antonio Marras. Here, the Fall/Winter 2018 collection was made up of a palette of blacks and reds. Needless to say the beauty look followed suit, with models boasting beautiful smoky eyes with a flush of red shadow.
Jil Sander
Hair at Jil Sander literally defied gravity as Eugene Souleiman created super shiny braids that were suspended in the air as though models were moving at high-speed – and they didn’t budge an inch. We need whatever hairspray he used!
Gucci
Yes, that’s a third eye. And yes, it actually was on a model’s forehead. Gucci broke all the beauty rules (again) this season as we saw everything from monobrows, prosthetic heads, bleached brows, and third eyes walk the runway.
