Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2018 Haute Couture show was all about a beautiful French garden, complete with sandy paths, petal-covered pergolas, and fancy fountains. So, naturally, the beauty look complemented this perfectly, with fabulously flushed faces, soft-pink eyes, and hot-pink lips created backstage by Tom Pecheux and his team. Read on to discover the key Chanel beauty products that were used and how to get the look yourself.
The key to flawless, natural-looking skin lies in (properly) prepping your face before applying makeup. To clean your skin, apply ‘La Solution 10 de Chanel’ face cream, which soothes and smoothes even the most sensitive of skins. Next, brighten your eyes and reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles with the ‘Hydra Beauty Micro Gel Yeux’.
The formula contains antioxidants and active ingredients to treat the delicate eye area, helping to diminish the appearance of fine lines. Finish your prep with a light layer of the ‘Hydra Beauty Micro Sérum’, which contains camellia micro-droplets to deliver an intense hit of hydration.
Once your face has been fully prepped, use Chanel’s ‘Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation’ to do just what its name suggests: give your skin a healthy glow. This clever cushion foundation provides a dreamy, dewy finish thanks to its mineral pigments and soft-focus powders that even out skin and boost radiance. Next, conceal any blemishes and discoloration with the ‘Correcteur Perfection Long Lasting Concealer’ before using the dual-ended blush and highlighter brush (the white side is perfect for precision highlighting and the black for beautiful blush application) to apply the ‘La Palette Essentielle’.
The palette includes a bronzer to contour, a red blush, and a shimmery shade to strobe, so it’s amazing for sculpting and adding a healthy flush of color to your skin. Meanwhile, a dusting of the ‘Foschia Rosa’ blush on the apples of your cheeks will give you the look’s beautiful blush in no time.
Using light and upward strokes, define your brows with the long-wear brow pencil before brushing them and setting them in place with a few strokes of the ‘Le Gel Sourcils’ brow gel.
This look is all about a subtle wash of pastel pink on the eyes, achieved by using the ‘Les 4 Ombres Éclat Énigmatique Palette’. Using the retractable dual-tip eyeshadow brush, dust the lighter colors onto your eyelids, using a circular motion to gently blend. A coat or two of the ‘Dimensions de Chanel’ mascara, and you’re good to go.
Lips were first coated with a bright burst of fuchsia pink thanks to the ‘Rouge Allure Incantevole Lipstick’, and then given a high-shine glossy finish with a coat of the ‘Rouge Coco Gloss in Poppea’.
