Honey, Yogurt, and Lavender
What you’ll need:
– 3 tbsp natural live yogurt
– 1 tsp honey (Manuka is best)
– 2 to 3 drops pure lavender oil
Yogurt is the ultimate dairy delight for your skin. Packed with protein, it’s also full of antioxidants and vitamins, as well as lactic acid that gently sloughs away dead, dull skin. The naturally occurring milk fat moisturizes and soothes, while its anti-fungal and antibacterial properties help stimulate new skin.
When it comes to essential oils that help turn back time, lavender tops the list. This powerful purple plant creates a regenerative oil that assists with signs of aging and calms frayed nerves. A natural humectant (meaning it attracts moisture) and powerful antibacterial, honey literally sweetens the deal as it’s loaded with antioxidants to help perfect and protect against aging aggressors.
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and apply a thick layer to the skin. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse clean with warm water.
Avocado, Wheatgrass, and Lemon
What you’ll need:
– 1 tbsp wheatgrass juice (or powder, if you prefer)
– 1 ripe avocado
– ½ lemon, squeezed
Avocados are amazing when it comes to anti-aging. This tropical fruit contains phytochemicals, antioxidants, and amino acids to nourish skin cells, prevent and heal damage, and hydrate and moisturize. High in vitamins B and E, avocados are super skin strengtheners and help soothe while fighting off aging free radicals. They’re also high in fatty acids to nourish and revitalize skin, restoring that youthful plumpness we all want.
Wheatgrass packs this mask with an anti-aging punch thanks to its countless vitamins, amino acids, and proteins, whilst natural antibacterial lemon helps to brighten, diminish discoloration, and fight blemishes.
Mash your avocado and mix in the lemon juice and wheatgrass powder before applying to clean, dry skin. Leave on for at least 15 minutes, then rinse clean.
Egg Whites, Banana, and Papaya
What you’ll need:
– 2 tbsp papaya pulp
– ½ banana, mashed
– 1 whole egg
– 1 egg white
For a beautifying boost, reach for a banana. This yellow fruit is bursting with potassium, antioxidants, and natural oils, as well as vitamins A, E, and C. Bananas also contain over 75 percent water, which makes them mighty moisturizers. They help to strengthen skin, prevent damage, and encourage repair whilst helping to maintain skin’s elasticity.
Egg on your face isn’t always a bad thing, especially when it’s in your face mask. It’s a sure-fire way to get brighter, younger-looking skin as eggs are packed with protein and moisture-preserving potassium – not to mention vitamin B to boost oxygen to skin and protect against environmental stressors. Then there’s papaya, which is commonly used in facial treatments thanks to its amazing exfoliating properties. Rich in the papain enzyme, it helps rid you of dead skin to restore your radiance and smoothness.
Whisk up the egg and egg white and combine with the mashed banana before adding the papaya pulp and applying to skin. Leave on for ten minutes before rinsing off.
