Victoria’s Secret Angel Iza Goulart turns 33 today and, in honor of her birthday, Savoir Flair decided to find out just how the Brazilian bombshell stays in such amazing shape. Hula Hooping

If you thought hula hooping was reserved solely for playground games, think again. It’s actually one of the most effective ways to tone your tummy and get some pretty fab abs – and fast. Goulart’s not the only celebrity who’s a fan, as the likes of Beyoncé, Michelle Obama, and Zooey Deschanel all hoop to stay in shape.

Not only does this workout use over 30 core muscles, but it also helps to improve balance and flexibility. Hula hooping can also tone your entire body as you get more creative with your moves – not to mention the fact that it’s infinitely more fun than sit-ups. Sold.

Skipping

Skipping is a sure-fire way to blast fat, burn calories, and get that heart rate soaring. It also works the entire body – not only is your core engaged to keep you stabilized, but your lower body is also constantly bouncing. At the same time, your upper body is moving as your arms and shoulders move the rope, which in turn improves coordination and balance.

It’s also a low-impact exercise, so it’s much easier on your joints and knees than going for a run. Goulart often posts pics and videos of herself skipping – be it on the beach or in a hotel – as the beauty of this workout is that you can do it anywhere.

Hip Thrusts

For buns of steel, do as Goulart does and make hip thrusts your go-to move. One of the most effective ways to strengthen and tone the glute muscles (a.k.a. your bum), it also engages your core and works your hamstrings and quads. If you’re new to this move, start with a basic hip thrust without weights before moving on to single-legged thrusts and then adding a barbell to your workout. Pilates

A quick visit to Goulart’s Instagram account, and you’ll find yourself booking a reformer Pilates class within seconds. The supermodel posts photo after photo of her Pilates workouts, and even traveling doesn’t stop her from staying fit (yes, she practices Pilates on her plane seat). She swears by reformer and cadillac equipment to strengthen, tone, and elongate her muscles, both of which perfectly complement her more hardcore moves. TRX

Whether she’s tricep dipping, practicing her handstands, or doing ab pikes and reverse crunches, using TRX equipment is a staple part of Goulart’s workouts. A form of suspension weight training, it’s an amazing piece of equipment that works your entire body, and the options are literally endless. Most gyms are now equipped with them, and there are even dedicated TRX classes available. Alternatively, you can buy your own TRX gear and take it with you wherever you go.

Stand-Up Paddle Boarding

Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (a.k.a. SUP) is the ultimate way to challenge your core, especially if you – like Goulart – practice your yoga poses while balancing on your board. Somewhere between surfing, kayaking, and some serious balancing, SUP does it all whilst remaining low in impact, which means it puts less potentially damaging tension on your joints and ligaments. Every part of your body will feel the burn, from your bottom to your abs, as you de-stress and inject some fun into your fitness routine.
