From fresh florals to magical musks, there’s a whole host of new scents that are perfect to spray your way into the spring season. See below for Savoir Flair’s six favorites and get lost in the wonderful world of springtime scents.
'J'adore in Joy'
Although it will be another couple of weeks before Dior’s dreamy new scent will be available (it’s on counters from May), trust us when we say it’s well worth the wait. A fresher take on the classic ‘J’adore’ fragrance, it’s a sublime blend of fruity and floral notes, but with a slightly salty edge – almost like the nectar of a juicy, ripe peach. “With ‘J’adore in Joy’, I created an original fruity-salty accord to make white flowers shine. This ‘Fleur de Sel’ is modern in style and literally ‘smells’ of joy,” explains Perfumer-Creator at Dior François Demachy.
'Eau des Merveilles Bleue'
Nose Christine Nagel’s second fragrance for the brand, this new olfactory offering from Hermès is reminiscent of a fresh sea breeze that conjures up memories of bygone years. “Hermès’ marvels are anchored in childhood, when your eyes open up to the world and are amazed by everything. I was amazed by pebbles that were wet from the sea; they had a color and a particular shimmer, and I discovered that they tasted salty, mineral-y,” Nagel explains. This aromatic aquatic scent is a burst of freshness, but also boasts warmth thanks to the addition of patchouli and woody notes.
Not only is this one seriously beautiful blue bottle that deserves pride of place on your dresser, but it also perfectly captures the essence of Spring in a scent. Subtle and delicate, it’s a heavenly mix of fresh floral notes of lily of the valley and fresh rose, green foliage, and honeysuckle, all of which are given a mysterious and rich edge through earthy and spicy Akigalawood.
Inspired by an opulent garden overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Roberto Cavalli’s new scent ventures deeper into the lush green foliage than his first creations, thereby revealing a luxurious floral fragrance that brings a beautiful bouquet to your bottle. Sensual wild jasmine, vibrant red lily, and exotic vanilla as well as heady sandalwood and patchouli make for a hypnotic scent that’s both feminine and addictive.
'Le Parfum Resort Collection'
This new perfume from Elie Saab celebrates the glitz and glamour of the red carpet, where female beauty dazzles under the flashing lights. To capture these moments, perfumer Francis Kurkdjian chose unusual, sparkling fruity notes. There’s deliciously sweet and juicy Italian red mandarin essence, sensual frangipani, tangy and bright pomegranate nectar, luminous jasmine sambac and orange blossom, and intense patchouli – all housed in Saab’s iconic multi-faceted bottle.
“Fleur Musc represents a bold, passionate femininity. It’s a fragrance that evokes charm and grace,” says Narciso Rodriguez of his latest perfume creation. Centered around a heart of musk, the scent opens with a bouquet of roses and florals with fiery and spicy pink peppercorn, whilst amber and patchouli at its base add depth and dimension. The result? A perfume that possesses “grace and beauty that are both provocative and unassuming”.
