From nutritious sweet treats to cool cafés and fun ways to get fit, check out three of Dubai’s latest healthy happenings with Savoir Flair’s roundup, below.

1

Encas

Encas (meaning “snack” in French) is perhaps the prettiest addition to Dubai’s healthy-food scene. Created by Justine Dampt (who sought to clean up her diet and lifestyle following various health complications), the snacks are 100 percent free of gluten, dairy, and refined sugar. They’re also entirely raw and both vegan and paleo-friendly. Each beautiful little box is bursting with nutritious ingredients in the form of four bite-size squares called “carrés” to satiate those afternoon sweet cravings, with four flavors to choose from – including ‘Beautiful Istanbul’ (rose and pistachio) and ‘Magical Bali’ (dark chocolate and coconut). Just one square will hit that spot, particularly as each is devoid of nasties and empty calories. Saying that, you’ll probably end up devouring the whole box…

Aktiv Nation

Boasting 26,000 square feet of fitness facilities, the brand new Aktiv Nation gym in Al Quoz is an active woman’s paradise. It features multipurpose courts, indoor pitches, and an in-house juice bar, making it a great spot to have fun whilst getting fit. The best part, though, has to be the indoor, air-conditioned beach volleyball sandpits, which make it possible to get a beach body without actually having to sweat it out in the sun.

Hapi

Brought to you by man-about-town and celebrity chef Paul Frangie, Hapi makes us – well, very happy indeed. A cool café and kitchen concept in Al Quoz, it offers the opportunity to dine on some seriously healthy grub, get your downward dog on in a yoga class, or try your hand at the military-style ‘Parkour’ workout. On the menu at this health hub are offerings such as organic bone broth (it’s tastier than it sounds, promise), which is full of vital vitamins and minerals, and smoked salmon with salad and sweet-potato wedges. Just be sure to save some room for the organic soft-serve ice cream with salted caramel and chocolate crunch. It’s worth every single bite.
