From ballet-inspired barre classes to high-altitude spinning (yes, it’s a thing), Savoir Flair’s roundup of the three best new workouts in Dubai will help you get fit this summer.
Altitude Spinning
Take your spinning class to new heights – literally – with the Middle East’s first ever indoor high-altitude studio. Part of Talise Fitness and housed in the Madinat Jumeirah gym, the state-of-the-art cycling studio reduces the amount of oxygen in the room to simulate being up in the mountains. This not only works your cardiovascular system (it puts your body under more stress and forces it to work harder), but it also boosts blood circulation, energy levels, and overall fitness. What’s even better is that, in each 45-minute class, you work your body and cardiovascular system just as much as you would in a regular 90-minute spin session, meaning you cut your workout time in half.

All Things Define
Dubai’s hottest new workout studio, Define, is also Savoir Flair’s favorite new fitness destination. Located in Dubai Marina’s Silverene Tower, its bright and airy studio is home to three different classes that focus on three different ways of working out. Try the ‘Body’ class for a barre-infused strengthening workout or the ‘Revolution’ class for an indoor take on spinning (which also uses props and weights for a full-body blaster). You can also hang upside down on hammocks for an aerial yoga-inspired session during the ‘Mind’ class, helping restore your body from the inside out. Treat yourself to a refreshing beverage by Kold Press Juice Ko. right after, or splash out on some new exercise gear, thanks to the many rails of cool workout threads on offer.

Barry’s Bootcamp
Okay so it’s not open just yet, but this is big news in the city’s workout world. Barry’s Bootcamp is officially coming to Dubai at the end of October. Favored by fit females like Sandra Bullock, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Alba, Kim Kardashian, and Jessica Biel, this high-intensity interval training is all about getting your serious sweat on. Hour-long classes are split between interval treadmill routines and strength training using equipment like medicine balls, free weights, and resistance bands. Designed to whip you into shape – and fast – these classes will help you burn fat and build muscle. Oh, and you can expect to burn about 1,000 calories an hour. Watch this space for more details…
