Successful people around the world have their morning routines down to a fine art. So just how does British-Lebanese actress Razane Jammal start her day? Savoir Flair gets a peek into Jammal’s morning rituals, bringing you everything from the beauty products she swears by to her must-have breakfast.

I wake up at around 8:30 a.m. every day, but each morning is different as it really depends on what I have to do that day. If I have an audition or am filming, I bounce out of bed to start warming up my body and voice. If not, I tend to linger in bed a little, catching up on social media, the news, and my e-mails. I’m a snoozer, so it can often take three or four alarms to get me up!

I make sure to load up on liquids in the morning, so I take warm water with lemon, a cup of yerba mate (my substitute for coffee), and my Emergen-C vitamins to stay healthy. Given the amount of planes I get on every week, this is so important for me! Breakfast is brown toast with homemade almond paste and strawberry jam. I blend almond flakes with some water and olive oil, add a pinch of salt, and voilà – done! It’s full of nutrients, antioxidants, and magnesium, and it helps alkalize the body. I love its taste, especially with jam.

Depending on my morning, I sometimes work out. I’ll either run or do some high/low intensity training. On other occasions, I follow the Kayla Itsines program. I also do the “vocal fry” almost every day when I wake up – it’s an exercise that strengthens your vocal cords and improves the overall quality of your voice.

I’m not a big fan of phones so, unless it’s for work, my phone is almost always away from me. The only exception I make is when I play a “brain game” called Elevate that is designed to keep your brain cells kicking! I don’t watch TV either, but if I do have the time, you’ll find me glued to my laptop watching Netflix or ticking films off my list. I watch a lot of documentaries, and I am hooked on Orange Is the New Black and House of Cards. I love listening to music, but I enjoy doing that mostly in my car. When I am unwinding at home, everything is switched off! I enjoy complete silence.

When it comes to my morning beauty routine, I keep it simple. I wash my face with the ‘Clean Bar’ by Dermalogica and then apply moisturizer. I love all the products in Chanel’s ‘Hydra Beauty’ range. I generally don’t put on makeup unless I have a casting or something related to work. When I do, I use Chanel makeup products. It all takes me about 15 minutes.

The perk of not having a nine-to-five job is that I don’t have to be at a specific place at a specific time. I enjoy my freedom and not having a set routine.
