Armani Privé ‘Rouge Malachite’
Part of Giorgio Armani’s ‘La Collection des Terres Précieuses’, a collection of scents inspired by his travels, his new ‘Rouge Malachite’ perfume is an olfactory ode to the beauty of Russian women and their strength and temperament. Armani was inspired by a piece of Malachite (an ancient stone at the heart of many Russian legends) when creating this fragrance, fusing it with the color red, a color that represents passion and power. “I always kept in mind Giorgio Armani’s own words to describe Russia: ‘If I think of Russia, I imagine strength, decisiveness, and opulence. I imagine an attitude that is simultaneously bold and conscious, and always considerably sensual.’ I had to create a powerful and sensual fragrance with a memorable signature,” perfumer Pascal Guarin tells us. “The fragrance is built around two poles: Tuberose absolute and ylang heart for the feminine side and sage (absolute and oil from the South of France) and vetiver for the masculine side. I used an ambery ingredient called operanide to create the link between the masculine and the feminine poles. This very strong captive ingredient used in conjunction with the tuberose and sage created a very sophisticated and unique fragrance,” he adds.
Tom Ford ‘Venetian Bergamot’
Fans of Mr Ford’s fragrance creations won’t be disappointed with this new addition to his ‘Private Blend’ collection. Sending you straight to the shores of Italy with just a spritz, the scent is centered on the “prince of citrus”, Venetian bergamot. Fresh and crisp, this citrusy sent sparkles on your skin with notes of Madagascan black peppercorn, ginger essence, ylang ylang, and Chinese magnolia. The base of cedarwood adds a fresh, green-woody cleanness, and Australian sandalwood, roasted tonka, and vanilla and amber notes add a subtle creaminess and warmth as the scent dries down. The result is a delicate citrus fragrance with a floral texture and creamy base that make for one sensual, smoldering scent.
Jo Malone ‘The Herb Garden Collection’
Jo Malone’s new ‘The Herb Garden Collection’ is sure to tickle your fragrance fancy and treat your nose to unique and unusual scent combinations that you would never have thought of before. From ‘Wild Strawberry & Parsley’ to ‘Carrot Blossom & Fennel’ and ‘Sorrel & Lemon Thyme’, these fragrances are the next best thing to actually standing in a garden of herbs. “Our approach was multi-dimensional at first. We talked about color and sound, the time of day in the herb garden, the light, even how the names of each herb sounded. It was a very inspiring, very unusual way to work and one that spoke to all the senses,” explains Master Perfumer Anne Flipo. “I found myself spending more and more time in my own rambling garden where I grow thyme, sorrel, nasturtium, wild strawberries, parsley, and lavender. Wandering through these plants, at different times of day, I tried to imagine the most original and exciting combinations. Inspiration also came from taste. I tried every single one of the herbs with the team at Jo Malone London, some at 8 a.m. in the morning for the freshest, most responsive taste buds!” Whether you wear each scent alone or layer them to create your very own personalized perfume, these deliciously delectable fragrances will soon be your new favorites.
Diptyque ‘Eau Des Sens’
As its name might suggest, Diptyque’s new ‘Eau Des Sens’ is all about creating a sensory experience like no other, taking you on an olfactory adventure that brings in elements of sight and sound. Designed to be “disconcerting for the senses”, it takes a different view of fragrance, one that focuses on the philosophy of softness – of soft, sensitive skin and sensuous, spiritual realms. With warm woods and spicy facets complementing citrus notes of neroli and orange and floral notes of patchouli and angelica, it’s a delicate delight for your senses.
Chanel 'Coco Mademoiselle Touche De Parfum'
While this technically isn’t a new scent, it is a totally new way to wear it. Introducing Chanel’s new ‘Coco Mademoiselle Touche De Parfum’, a perfectly portable perfume that allows for precise touch-ups wherever you are. Inspired by lipstick, it’s housed in a pearlized beige suede case and features a sculpted applicator so you can easily apply your perfume when on the go. The fragrance itself is fabulously feminine, with a heart of jasmine and rose and accents of patchouli and vetiver that make it fresh, strong, and classically Chanel.
