This season at Gucci, three stunning beauty looks made their way down the runway thanks to Pat McGrath and her team of makeup maestros, who beautified the models backstage. “It’s a mood – we have some really strong faces who work with all the outfits. It’s all about enjoying the makeup and developing all the girls whilst focusing on their individuality,” McGrath revealed to Savoir Flair, who managed to grab a few minutes with her before the show kicked off. “We have the different hair ‘dos too, so it’s really different and exaggerated this time, in a beautiful way.”
The three different looks came together to create a beautiful pink and peach palette of colors on fresh, flawless faces, creating a magical mood both on and off the runway.
The Natural Face
“The very natural face is what we always do, with the gorgeous ‘Lustrous Glow Foundation’ and powder on the skin, only where needed, very lightly placed. We used the lightest brown shade from the ‘Tuscan Storm Eyeshadow Quad’ around the eyes, all very soft, and a little bit of brown mascara and only lip balm on the lips. It’s all about perfecting, perfecting, perfecting.”
The Bold Blush
“This look is all about beautiful pink, peach blusher. We used ‘Soft Peach’ and ‘Coral Flower’ mixed onto the cheeks for an exaggerated, decadent pink blush. Applied from the brow onto the cheekbones, starting from the eyes to the cheeks to create a Renaissance, ethereal feel. It’s quite rebellious, almost rock and roll. Not much goes on the brows — only if they need it!”
The Power Pout
“This look is all about the new matte lipsticks. We used ‘Adrenaline’, a beautiful fuchsia, which is really gorgeous with natural basics. The girls are such amazing characters this season, so we use the barest amount of makeup, but it’s quite powerful seeing them with the pink blusher and it’s exciting that there’s more of a lipstick going on. It just adds to all their characters.”
