From beautiful, bold braids to gothic glamor and eyeliner that’s been taken to a whole new level, here are five of the biggest beauty trends seen on the Fall/Winter 2016 New York Fashion Week runways.
Gothic Glam
Whether you opt for black lips or black lids, dark hues are making one big makeup comeback for the FW16 season. Gothic, grungy glamor was seen at numerous shows, including Rodarte, where pale spooky skin was teamed with a dark lip, and at Marc Jacobs, where the dirty smoky eye was taken to a whole new level with a haunting feel.
Curly Girls
Say goodbye to straight locks and wave in the curls (no pun intended) as this season it’s all about big, bouncy, beautiful curly hair with lots of volume and natural textures.
Barbie Brights
It wasn’t all doom and gloom at NYFW as there were bold Barbie-esque brights among the dark hues that injected some fun and color to the shows, with turquoise and purple being the shades of choice.
Bold Braids
Braids are here to stay and they’re getting bigger, bolder, and more beautiful than ever before. From messy boho braids to tightly plaited pigtails, whichever way you choose to wear yours, make a braid your new beauty accessory this season.
Loud Liner
The only item you need to make sure is in your beauty bag right now is a black eyeliner. Bold, black lines were seen in the forms of chunky cat-eye flicks, dark rimmed eyes, and Cleopatra-style winged looks, as well as in more graphic shapes to create totally unique and braver beauty looks.
